Drs. Harrison and Ngumbi, with other scholars, are joining each other to develop an interesting new research cluster

African American Studies’ core faculty members Faye Harrison and Esther Ngumbi have joined Ken Salo (Urban & Regional Planning/African Studies), Krystal Smalls (Anthropology/Linguistics), Cameron McCarthy (EPOL/Institute of Communications Research [ICR]); doctoral students Chibundo Egwuatu (Anthropology), Lila Ann Dodge (Anthropology), and Adrian Wong (Media/ICR); and others in forming a new research cluster that will focus on “Problems in Decolonizing Academia.” This is one of the 2020-2021 collaborative initiatives that has received funding from the Illinois Program for Research in the Humanities (IPRH).
