Everyone is invited to the upcoming Staged Reading of Xtigone by Nambi E. Kelley, an African-American playwright.  Directed by Charence O'Higgins (MFA Theatre UIUC) and Paul O'Mahony (Founder and Director of Out of Chaos Theatre, London, U.K.). The actors are high school students from local high schools and will perform the reading on March 25, 6 p.m. at Combes Gym, Central High School, Champaign.

The series of events for this coming week include a staged reading of the play with the participation of high school students and are designed in response to the rise of gun violence in our high schools and community.

In addition to the Staged Reading and Post-show discussion, Paul and Charence will run a series of workshops around ancient theater and adaptation as well as discussions on violence and trauma.

The flyer with event details can be found here.  For more information on the workshops, click here.
