The Department of African American Studies had a presence at the first ever Humanities Open House this fall, which created the opportunity for faculty and staff to interact and engage with prospective and current students across the community and campus to showcase the multitude of creativity, innovation, and research the Humanities has to offer.

Professors Bobby J. Smith II, Esther Ngumbi, and Eddie O'Byrn from the Undergraduate Curriculum committee had the chance to provide students with information and materials about the African American Studies program and its benefits, while Professor Ruby Mendenhall and her youth mentee, Jaimya Freeman showcased wellness robots, one being, N1CØLE, created to provide emotional support for youth.
